South Africa, Botswana and Lesotho

South Africa, Botswana, and Lesotho are key members of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), an important regional grouping of 14 independent states. The aim of the organization is to foster regional
economic co-operation and development, as well as to bolster social and political ties. South Africa is the largest economy in the group, while Botswana’s capital city, Gaborone, is home to the SADC Secretariat. All three countries are taking an increasingly regional approach to their development and placing greater emphasis on the SADC initiative.
